HOW TO VIDEO A master:CLASS

This user guide describes the step by step instructions to video record any master:CLASSES with just a camera and a tripod. It takes time to get the camera set up, but the video produced will be able to capture the entirety of a master:CLASS at its best quality.

VIDEO PRODUCTION

1. Set up the camera and tripod according to its’ own instruction manual. Tripods are a necessity because it offers smooth camera movement and the option of taking shots at a wide variety of angles.
2. Remember to ask for people’s consent before filming. If necessary, provide them with a consent form or refrain from taking video people’s faces.
3. Position the tripod in an area this will allow you to capture the entire scene of the master:CLASS. Tip : It is usually the best to position this at the corner of the room, as it minimises the risk of people tripping over any equipment. Another option is to make use of a wide-angle camera lens.
4. Move the camera slowly, (left-to-right) in a maximum 180 degree angle.
5. It is good to record talks and discussions that take place during a master:CLASS. Using a wireless microphone would generate the best output, but is not entirely necessary.
6. Take detailed shots of people performing or demonstrating the master:CLASS. A zoomed in perspective would ensure that none of the key points would be missed out.
